The United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture was established by the General Assembly in 1981(resolution 36/151 – PDF) with a mandate to support torture survivors and their families. The Fund is accepting project proposals aimed at providing direct assistance to victims of torture and their family members.
The United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture awards hundreds of grants to civil society organizations worldwide to deliver medical, psychological, legal, social, and other assistance.
