Founded in 2007, HACEY Health is a non-profit organization committed to supporting women, girls, and young people in Nigeria to live a productive and healthy life.
They achieve this through innovation, Capacity development, Advocacy, Research, and Education (i.C.A.R.E) approach. HACEY was established to provide sustainable solutions to close the inequality gap that limits women and girls’ access to health and economic empowerment.
HACEY Health has worked with partners to mobilize resources and implement sustainable interventions reaching over 5 million Nigerians. HACEY has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is an accrediting organization to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
HACEY’s programs and projects are designed to use a multi-pronged approach to supporting beneficiaries. Championing solutions and building partnerships from grassroots to the highest policy level to play a pivotal role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In a workshop held in April 2022, HACEY Health Initiative urged journalists and media practitioners to intensify their campaigns against the practice of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Ekiti State. The one-day advocacy workshop held with media practitioners in Ado-Ekiti was centered on the prevalence and perpetrators of FGM in the state. Speaking, the convener, Miss Nifemi Ayeni, the Ekiti State coordinator for HACEY Health Initiative appealed to Journalists in the state to join hands with the organization in order to stamp out the practice of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) from the state. Miss Ayeni further urged participants at the workshop to dig deeper into the activities of the traditional birth attendants that are involved in the act of mutilating the genitals of females in society.
The clean water initiative, another project of HACEY, supported by ACT Foundation is focused on improving access to potable water in rural and underserved communities.
The initiative aims to achieve this through the installation of boreholes in some selected communities in southwest Nigeria and capacity building on Water Sanitation And Hygiene (WASH) for women, children, and community leaders.
The organization is supported by national and international partners, to learn more about HACEY health or volunteer your skills in the organization visit their website
